Chaste Berry (Vitex)

So in the beginning of February a friend brought the herb Chaste Berry (Vitex) to my attention. I did some research on it and decided to mention it my my OBGYN.
He said it's not something he can prescribe but he has heard of it and it's also know as "Natures Clomid." He said it has been known to help many women with PCOS. I actually found a sight that said that also: Natural Health Solutions for PCOS.

I found a sight that says vitex may start working to treat imbalances after about 10 days, but for full benefit it should be taken up to 6 months or longer. With PMS, a positive result may be felt by the second menstruation, but permanent improvement may take up to a year or longer. So I started it February 12th...I ovualted the 15th...not sure if it had anything to do with it but I'll take it! I havnt ovulated on my own since February 2005. I have the Vitex and the fact that I just had an HSG (which my doctor said can raise your fertility up 30% for up to 4 months afterwards). So I am hoping that both will work in our favor of geting our bfp!
I do have a prescription for 2 more months of Clomid but it's not covered by my insurance so I'd rather give this a try for now. I got a 3 months suplly at GNC for $9.99!
Vitex has so many wonderful things that go along with taking it! It is said to control acne (which I dont hve acne but the PCOS has been doing a number on my face lately.I look like a teenager going through puberty) may help cure fibroid cysts that occur in the smooth muscle tissue, restores a normal estrogen-to-progesterone balance, reduce some of the undesirable symptoms of menopause, ease premenstrual syndrome, help with irregular menstruation (which is my problem big time) and for women who are trying to get pregnant, vitex may be helpful to help regulate the ovulatory cycle. That for me is what I am hoping for!
So I plan on taking it for the next 3 monthto see if anything happens. unless of course I get pregnant. So we shall see! I am just really happy I ovulated this month....

My house smells sooooo yummy!

My house is smelling super yummy right now! I have a London Broil (which had been marinating in my fridge in olive oil mixed with a onion soup packet for 24 hours) in the slow cooker. I poured a can of mushroom soup and water on top of it along with onion and carrots. Then I have a loaf of hawaiian bread cooking in my bread machine!
I was originally going to make a apple pie but I decided on the bread instead. Then later on I will make smashed potatoes to go with the meat and veggies :0) Yum I cant wait for din din!

Feeling better,ovulated and re-arranging.

Feeling much better today! I woke up with no aches in my back, arms or legs at all! It's so weird to go from so much pain one day to no pain the next!
All I have is soreness in my jaw after I eat. My jaw was sore from the dentist last week but it was OK by Thursday. Then after I smacked the other side of my jaw on the door when I landed it started really hurting.
But it's been a Pain reliever free day!
Oh yeah and I ovulated 6 days ago!! Yay! So now I just wait and see if AF comes or I will be testing around 17 days past ovulation.
I am off this week so I am borrowing my Aunt Tammys rug cleaner. We have been living here for a year now and some spots have accumaulated here and there. So tonight I will be spot checking in the living room. Then we are going to put our computer desk in there. So that mean more re-arranging of the furniture. We decided that it was time to let the 3rd room kinda look like the future baby room we want it to be. We will still leave my craft desk in there but make room for the toy bins and such so we have a play room till we have a baby to set up in there. Of course we arent ready to have it set up like a nursery or anything...that would make it harder on us if we dont conceive for a while. But in the meantime it will bring us closer!

The clumsy one fell down the stairs!

That would be me....DH got home around 4pm on Friday ...we needed to get to the bank before it closed. I decided to wear my new boots. These boots have a bulky low heal which I have not worn this kind of heal (or any heal) in years. On my way down the stairs I lost balance and fell down 11 stairs head first...but while that was happening I put my arms out because I didnt want to break any bones or my glasses. I ended up doing a number ot my legs and smacked my cheek right on the door at the bottom of the stairs. Dave and K were outside in the van waiting for me....my chest was hurting from the impact...it was a very loud thud since I am no light weight. I laid there for a couple minutes and then used the stairs to help get me up.Then changed into my sneakers, tossing my new boots yelling at them, then I walked slowly out the door to Dave. I was a little sore but not too bad.....we did our run to the bank. We went to dinner, hung out at my parents till our planned movie (Narnia) started. Then I woke up Saturday morning and everything was soooooooooooooo sore! My arms, legs, jaw (from smacking it against the door) and my back were feeling it. It wasnt as bad as I thought it would be till later in the day. Then Sunday morning my back was even worse. I just laid around all day (after we got back from church) with Kaila watching Little House On The Prarie popping tylenol. Then this morning it hurt so bad I was nautious. So I called the doctor and I have an appointment Friday and if it still hurts as bad he will refer me to a chiro. I know I did a number on my body so I know I need time to heal so that's the delay to get in the doctor. Plus I emntions what I have been doing to make th apin go away and he said that if it was really bad it wouldnt work. So more than likely my body just is healing itself and going through the process.
I am just so sick of falling. I have had 1 bad fall a year for the last 4 years! UGH! But this time I didn't sprain my ankle! Plus it wasnt on our way out to camping or while campoing so that is a plus!
Just pray that this pain lessens throughout the week cause it really starts to hurt once the Aleve wears off! I have been sitting on my massaging mat, my dh has been rubbing Mineral Ice on it, and standing in the shower letting our massage shower head pound on it. After that I feel my best :0) Actually right now I have no meds in me but I just got out of the shower and it feels pretty good. Only hurts if I bend a certainw ay...so I dont..lol!
One positive thing is I am off this week....Laurens mom takes off for this week every year. So I can relax as much as I need too. Dave and Kaila did alot of the laundry, cleaned the bathroom, vacuumed, dusted, swept and mopped the kitchen ! So I dont have much house work I'll have to do this week! What a family :0)
Thanks for reading!!! I know it was long!

Conversation Between Lauren and I today....

This was our conversation during lunch today:

Lauren: Guess What Lindsy?
Lindsy: What?
Lauren: I am going to marry Micthell (little boy in our Sunday school class)
Lindsy: You're gonna marry Mitchell?
Lauren: Yeah...he's my friend!
Lindsy: Yeah he is cute. What if I want to marry Mitchell?
Lauren: You can't!
Lindsy: Why?
Lauren: Cause you aren't 13!
Lindsy: So?
Lauren: Well you have to be 13!
Lindsy: Are you saying I am too old to marry Mitchell?
Lauren: Yeah. 13 is old. So you are alot old!

I have been feeling old lately...now I really must be old!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

We truly had a wonderful day today! I am so blessed to have such a wonderful Husband and daughter! First the alarm went off and Dave made me stay in bed and he took care of Kaila this morning. Then he woke me up before he left with an amazing hug and kiss and said he had a suprise for me later. Which shocked me because we usually just exchange cards and go out for dinner if it's on the weekend so I wasn't expecting anything. I had gotten Kaila a Care Bear V-day book, purple bracelet, M&M's and Hershey's Kissables. We had done her Valentine's Day cards over the weekend and put together little candy bags for her class. I also got Lauren a V-day book, red bracelet and the same candies. Lauren came with a beautiful metal purple flower for me to put in my garden when spring arrives and Kaila a teddy bear holding bubble bath flower petals.
Dave then called me around 2 pm to say that I wasn't making dinner on Valentine's Day that he would take care of it. I had already planned on ordering a pizza anyway cause he said he had been craving Picasso's pizza but I didnt let him know that...lol! He got home about 4:30 all excited to give Kaila and I gifts. Lauren was here so I let her open hers as well along with us. He got us each a beautiful card. Kala got Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory on DVD and he got me the 5th Season of Little House On The Prarie. Kaila got me a box of mini truffle hearts that I planned on having one a day as a special treat till they are gone. Dave also ordered salad and pizza. Then we all watched a episode of LHOTP while we ate dinner. We ended the evening with kaila watching the Peanut V-day special. I couldn't have asked for a better Valentine's day!!! I love you hunny!

Made me Laugh!!!

I was in the bathroom brushing my teeth this morning when Kaila came running yelling, "Mom" hysterically! The door was a little open and she opened it yelling to gte my attention.
After spitting out my tooth paste I said,"What!"
"Mom, maybe there isn't any school today. The lights outside just went out!" I started laughing hysterically..lol!
The I explained to her that when it starts getting lighter out the lights have sensors that turn them off. She looked so disappointed...lol!

Ah the age of innocence.
